School Tours

Friends of Hearst Castle supports a variety of educational and interpretive programs at Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument.

Young visitors can explore the displays at the free William Randolph Hearst Exhibit with the “Children's Treasure Hunt.” When finished, they receive a free prize, as well as a richer experience and better understanding of Hearst’s life.

FHC supports the Hearst Castle School Tours program by providing educational materials and other items to enhance the experience of these young visitors to The Enchanted Hill.

W. R. Hearst deeply enjoyed the natural beauty of the San Simeon coast. This resource is made more accessible to visitors with the help of FHC-sponsored campground educational programs, including the Fam Camp trailer, which provides camping equipment free of charge to groups of young people.

Friends is also a proud sponsor of the SLO Arts Council's "Art Ops for Schools" program, which provides transportation for local school children to visit Hearst Castle.
